How to Apply for Access
Please refer to the Guidelines for Access to MalariaGEN Data for further information and for details on how to apply for access to the data.
You will need to complete both an application form and MalariaGEN Data Access Agreement (see the downloads below). PDFs of each should be sent to: malariagen-idac@ethox.ox.ac.uk.
If your application is approved by the IDAC, your institution is required to enter into a Data Access Agreement with the University of Oxford which manages the MalariaGen database on behalf of the MalariaGen Consortium members. Please note that the Data Access Agreement is only available in PDF format to ensure that no amendments are made to it.
The Agreement must include the signature of a person who has appropriate institutional or administrative authority. In most cases an institutional signature can be obtained through your Research or Legal Services Office or equivalent. Please follow the steps outlined in the ‘Guidelines for completion of MalariaGen Data Access Agreement’ to complete the required detail before emailing a copy with your application form.
Once the Data Access Agreement has been checked, you will be sent instructions outlining where to send the hard copy originals of the agreement, which will be signed on behalf of Oxford. A fully signed original (if you send two copies) or a scan of the original (if you send one copy) will be returned to you for your records.
Applications for access to data can be submitted at any time. The MalariaGEN Independent Data Access Committee will consider straightforward applications on a rolling basis and aim to provide a decision within 2 months of receipt.
