The Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine is a a major research centre for tropical medicine. In Ghana, it works through the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine, a major collaboration with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the Ghanaian Ministry of Health, operating three well-equipped research field stations.

How the team are contributing to MalariaGEN

Rolf Horstmann and his team have recruited 685 family trios to Consortial Project 1 through a collaboration with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana.

The team has also been involved in leading Consortial Project 4.
