Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University

The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital is the oldest medical school in Thailand and is affiliated with Mahidol University. Founded in 1890 two years after the Siriraj Hospital opened, it has become the primary medical teaching centre in Thailand. The hospital is located on the west bank of Chao Phraya River in the heart of Bangkok. It has capacity for about 3,000 in-patients, necessary for its large catchment area, and also provides for more than a million out-patients a year.
