MalariaGEN Investigator - Giorgio Sirugo

Giorgio Sirugo earned his MD from Pavia University, his PhD in Molecular Biology from Pasteur University in Strasbourg and received his post-doctoral training in Molecular Genetics at Yale. From 1999 to 2007 he was based at the MRC Laboratories in The Gambia where he founded and led the Gambian DNA bank and contributed to the Consortial Project 1 and Consortial Project 3 components of Malariagen. He is currently Head of the Medical Genetics Unit at San Pietro Hospital and Adjunct Professor, Tor Vergata University Medical School, in Rome.
