The Institut Pasteur is a private not-for-profit foundation dedicated to the prevention and treatment of diseases through biological research, education and public health activities and has made a major contribution to our knowledge of infectious diseases for more than two hundred years. Research at the Institut focuses on the fight against infectious diseases, particularly the viral diseases of hepatitis, influenza, AIDS, rabies; bacterial diseases such as tuberculosis, meningitis, and diarrhoea; and parasitic diseases such as malaria. There are also studies into certain types of cancer, genetic diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, and allergies. Research is cross-disciplinary in microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, neurobiology and genomics.

Consortial Projects

Institut Pasteur, in collaboration the Institut Pasteur de Dakar and the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, is contributing to Consortial Project 4.
