Nguyen Thi Ngoc Quyen

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Quyen is the MalariaGEN Data Fellow for Vietnam. She obtained a Bachelor Science degree of Molecular Biotechnology at the Science University of Nature Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam in 2003. Since then she has been working as a research assistant at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Ho Chi Minh City. During this time she has developed a strong interest in malaria and host genetic susceptibility. She has been involved in a project about the relationship between haemoglobinopathies and malaria in Binh Phuoc province - one of the most malarial regions in Southern Viet Nam.

She is currently a Masters student of the Learning Distance Programme specializing in Infectious Disease at the University of London, UK. She has also been a Data Fellow for MalariaGen since 2006.  In the MalariaGen research project, she is involved in data clinical collection, sample handling and database management and analysis for the Vietnam group.

Nguyen and her colleagues at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Vietnam are contributing to Consortial Project 1 and Consortial Project 3. More >>
