The Institute of Child Health (ICH), College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, was established in 1961 with a grant given to the Federal Government by the United African Company. The function of the ICH is to undertake the teaching of medical graduates and medical auxiliaries. They also conduct research in particular aspects of child health and carry out field trials of new vaccines and drugs that may be of value in controlling major diseases in infancy and childhood.
