Kate Rowlands

Kate has been working in the Kwaitkowski group since January 2000. She works as a Research Scientist in the Oxford Lab managing and preparing the samples that arrive from collaborating sites. The sample are catalogued, standardised and prepared for QC. Kate is also involved in revisiting samples and preparing them for further geneotyping projects.

When Kate started working in the Group for International Child Health she was researching RSV Bronchiolitis, the biggest admitter of children to hospital in the developed world. She established a large sample set and studied potential associated SNPs. Kate has had her 2 children while working for Dominic and now works part-time for Malariagen.
