GEM 2012 approaching
23 May 2012
We are looking forward to the upcoming 2012 Wellcome Trust Conference on Genomic Epidemiology of Malaria (GEM), June 10-13th at the Welcome Trust Conference Centre on the Genome Campus (home of The Sanger Institute) in Hinxton UK.
This meeting provides a common forum for malaria scientists and clinicians working at the interface of genome science and technology, epidemiology, and statistical and population genetics, with an interest in understanding the clinical and biological consequences of genome variation in malaria-exposed populations.
Topics this year will include genomic epidemiology of the host, vector and parasite, highlighting the practical relevance of this research to global health, including anti-malarial drug resistance, insecticide resistance, vaccine design, and mechanisms of protective immunity.
We are all eagerly anticipating GEM 2012 and wanted to share our memories of the last GEM conference back in 2010 with this video.
