Aestivation and migration of An. coluzzii, An. gambiae, and An. arabiensis in the Malian Sahel (1177-VO-ML-LEHMANN)

Location: Mali (ML).

Mosquito

As part of an ongoing project on seasonal transmission of malaria in the Sahel, mosquitoes were collected in several villages in the Mali Sahel from 2012 to 2015, along two transects centred on the village of Thierola and including Niono, a region of irrigated rice cultivation. Collections were made at multiple time points throughout the year. In this study, mosquitoes were submitted from one Sahelian village (Dallowere) comprising at least three time points in each of these four years, representing early wet season, late wet season, and late dry season. Mosquitoes from Niono collected during the late dry and the late wet season were used as a comparison.
