MalariaGEN brings together and integrates genomic data from different labs and field studies, which increases the scale and value of the data resources. This reference data resource offers the potential for global surveillance of species that transmit malaria.

To manage the complexity of large-scale data, MalariaGEN has developed informatics systems and data application tools that help clinicians and scientists analyse and share data.

While primarily developed for MalariaGEN, our analysis software is open source, and has potential for use by the wider scientific community.

Parasite data tools To support and accelerate the use of genomic surveillance data by malaria control programs and policymakers, recently we have focused on the development of widely accessible data-driven applications.
Mosquito data tools MalariaGEN is developing open source tools to enable researchers around the world to access and analyse mosquito genome variation data. Given the scale of the data, we are currently focused on enabling users to access the data in the cloud and to use free interactive computing services.
Open source software MalariaGEN has a long history of developing and contributing to open source software, particularly in the areas of scientific data storage, visualisation and exploration. While our focus is on use cases in malaria genomics, we have benefited greatly from working in partnership with the broader open source community, and have been part of an exciting area of technology development.
