Alistair led the Malaria Vector Surveillance Programme within the Genomic Surveillance Unit at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. The programme focused on the use of genomics to monitor the mosquito populations that transmit malaria in Africa, and to detect evolutionary changes which might compromise the efficacy of mosquito control interventions.
