Human data resources at MalariaGEN

The MalariaGEN human consortial projects (Consortial Project 1Consortial Project 2, Consortial Project 3Consortial Project 4) have produced substantial data resources and collectively agreed to a managed access mechanism for releasing Human GWAS data sets. For information on how to apply for access, see Human GWAS data.

Resource 25 – Insights into malaria susceptibility using genome-wide data on 17,000 individuals from Africa, Asia and Oceania: This data release contains details on contributing partner studies, samples included in the project, metadata, genomic data including raw sequence reads and genome-wide genotyping, a set of directly typed genotypes used for validation and replication

Resource 23 – Resistance to malaria through structural variation of red blood cell invasion receptors.

Resource 18 – Admixture into and within sub-Saharan Africa: The data set used in these analyses drew on several data resources, including publicly available data sources.

Resource 14 – A novel locus of resistance to severe malaria in a region of ancient balancing selection: This represents the first data release of 3 populations (Kenya, Gambia, and Malawi) from the genome-wide study of resistance to severe malaria in eleven populations. It also provides additional data on 34 genomic regions that, in our analysis, showed the strongest association with severe malaria.

Resource 1 – A global network for investigating the genomic epidemiology of malaria: Templates, policies and procedures for the MalariaGEN Consortium which looked at human genetic determinants for malaria.

A host-parasite data resource is available here.
